Benefits of Tae Kwon Do

With Tae Kwon Do there are clear benefits of strength, fitness, physical discipline and control. Other mental and emotional benefits come as well. Some of these are contained in the Tenets of Tae Kwon Do, which all students recite before classes begin:

1) Courtesy
In all our classes, both for children and adults, questions are answered with sir and ma’am. We expect this same type of courtesy from our students in their interactions with each other.

2) Integrity
To proceed from belt to belt our students must show physical capability, but they also must show good conduct at our studio, in school, and at home.

3) Perseverance
Tae Kwon Do, by its nature, challenges students at whatever level they are at. By staying with the sport students see the undeniable product of their hard work as they progress from belt to belt.

4) Self Control
Physical self control is an early lesson in Tae Kwon Do, with great stress on the appropriate times to use the skills. Going hand in hand with this restraint, is the discipline instilled in students to control their overall actions.

5) Indomitable Spirit
As students progress in Tae Kwon Do, they often find themselves doing things they never thought they could. Through encouragement and constant challenging, we strive to build an attitude in the students that they can achieve anything
