I started Taekwondo when I was 5 in Hong Kong as an after-school activity. I fell in love with it after watching my seniors spar in class. I started to put more effort and time into practicing, learning, and studying this wonderful sport. My studio in Hong Kong mainly focused on the sports side of Taekwondo; thus, I was trained and supported as an athlete.

I was selected for the Hong Kong Team of Taekwondo after I got my 1st-degree black belt at 15. Joining the Hong Kong Team gave me a lot of chances to participate in overseas competitions and learn new skills and techniques. Representing Hong Kong in overseas tournaments was never my motivation; getting better at Taekwondo is. Taekwondo is never a sport to me; it is me. I always think that I didn’t choose Taekwondo, but Taekwondo chose me.
