School Updates and Clean-Up Day

School Updates
Classes are coming back next week! We plan to open classes at a local gym with a limited class schedule. These classes at the gym location will last 1 week until we can officially reopen the school. Each class will have approximately 2 time slots a week, which will total to 2 hours a week. We have a rough estimate for the days and times we have at the gym location. They are Mon-Wed. from 6:30 – 8:30 PM, Thursday and Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Saturday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, and for children whose schools have not reopened, we are looking at a 2:30 – 3:30 PM time slot on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

We will finalize our instructors’ schedules and send out an e-mail with official days and times for classes at the temporary gym location.

Mat arrival time determines our official reopen date: Due to shipping delays, our new mats are arriving on Sept.14 or 15. We plan to tentatively open the school on the following Monday, Sept. 18.

If you are holding the uniforms from the storage closet for Master Kim, then please bring a couple size 00s and 0s to the school.

Also, if you can store some items from the school for us while the tiling people work, then please let Master Kim know ASAP. We will need you to store the items for up to a week.

Friday Clean-Up Day (Adults only)
We are having a Volunteer Clean-Up Day this Friday, September 8 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. We need assistance with removing the last of the flood damaged goods, removing the padding around the pole, prepping the bars for installation, boxing up smaller items for storage, and cleaning off the floor from most of the drywall dust.

We are very moved by all the donations! They are much appreciated. If you are interested in donating some items to school, then please look below for a list of things we will need as well as an Amazon Wishlist link with some of those items:

  • Blue electrical tape to cover the bars
  • 20 plastic/metal chairs
  • 1-2 file cabinets
  • 2-3 plastic folding tables
  • 5 desk chairs without wheels, with arms
  • 3-5 plastic storage bins (square) for helmets
  • Shelf with clear, locking doors
  • Lockers
  • Bookshelf
  • Hooks (we need a large amount of metal and plastic hooks)
  • Moving Boxes
  • Brooms and dust pans

Another way you can help the school is to sign up for a year contract or 6 months upfront once the school re-opens.

Thank you all for your support!
